Riding the Blue Marble Together
A Five Part Earth Care Symposium

Dear Earth Care Friends,

This moment in Earth’s and humanity’s history is critical to securing a sustainable future for our children, grandchildren, and all generations to come. Be a part of building Taos’ Earth Care Community by attending this important and informative seminar.

What?
This symposium will prominently feature the Science On a Sphere Explorer (SOSx). Created by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and shared graciously by UNM Taos, the SOSx is an interactive online science resource, delivering a rich visual feast of Earth from space, coupled with incredibly informative overlays of satellite data.

In this live presentation, the SOSx will show us up to the day, multi year time lapse moving images of changing global conditions; temperature, CO2 density, cloud cover, ice and snow cover, floods, drought, fire, earthquake, and more.

When?
Every Tuesday in March, twice daily.

  • March 3: Rising Temperatures
  • March 10: Extreme Weather
  • March 17: Terra Firma, the Land
  • March 24: Our Precious Water
  • March 31: Reducing Human Impact

Where?

1:30pm @ Town of Taos Library

5:30 pm @ First Presbyterian Church of Taos (Fellowship Hall, Back Building)

Who?

Free and open to the public. The program is family friendly. Children, teens, the curious and skeptical are welcome.

Riding The Blue Marble Together is a collaborative effort including:

  • UNM Taos STEM Department
  • Renewable Taos
  • Town of Taos Library
  • The First Presbyterian Church of Taos

The attached flyer may be printed and distributed through your email lists and social media platforms.

Sincerely,

The Blue Marble team.
