Speaker from Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project to Make Presentation in Taos


Renewable Taos and Positive Energy Solar will host a free presentation at the El Monte Sagrado on Monday evening, February 18th from 6-9 PM. Featured speaker Bill Brown, an expert on the Clean Energy Economy will provide background on the urgency and solvability of our climate crisis, and the importance of rapid and widespread deployment of clean energy. He will talk about the unique local leadership here in Taos and its extraordinary accomplishments in energy efficiency and in providing clean energy to the people of northern New Mexico. He will introduce the new organization, Renewable Taos, and its approach to a full transition to clean energy and energy efficiency in Taos County. Brown lectures all over the country as a featured speaker for former Vice –President Al Gore’s organization, The Climate Reality Project. His presentation will focus on climate change in the American Southwest, and what solutions are actionable now for Taos.


Introduction and comments will be made by Taos’ own John Nichols, a nationally known author who will offer his unique personal insights on the meaning of clean energy to our community and planet.


Renewable Taos is a volunteer association of residents of Taos County who believe that the County has the potential to provide all its own energy from local renewable sources.
