Climate Change and Clean Energy Lecture on May 22

For immediate release:
Climate Change and Clean Energy Lecture on May 22
The Renewable Taos Lecture Series continues at the Harwood Museum in Taos on Wednesday, May 22nd at 7:00 PM.  This event is being sponsored by PPC Solar, and is the second lecture in the Renewable Taos series.
The featured speaker will be Mariel Nanasi, Executive Director of the New Energy Economy.  "Activist  DNA: How coal resistance and creating model renewable energy alternatives is a catalytic strategy" is the title of her presentation.  Mary Emery of Renewable Taos and PPC Solar of Taos President Dan Weinmann will give opening remarks, and Climate Reality Project presenter Bill Brown will introduce the featured speaker.    Ms Nanasi is a nationally recognized civil rights and criminal defense attorney.  She decided to apply her many talents to the New Energy Economy when she realized the urgency of climate change.
The lecture is fitting as the concentration of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere passed 400 parts per million on May 9, the highest level since about 2 million years ago during the Pleistocene Era.
Nanasi is comfortable with the complex policy and legal issues, and easily connects with the public for grassroots organizing.
Renewable Taos is a citizens advocacy group, working to promote a 100% clean energy economy for Taos by 2020.
Members of the media are invited to attend.  Please contact Mary Emery at 575-770-8382 for more information.
